One row per hour, not per medicine

Charts that list medicines down the side make you scan every row to answer the only question that matters: what do I take now? PillsChart puts the hours down the side instead. At eight in the morning you read one row and you are done — however many medicines are in it.

Colour that means something

Each medicine keeps the same colour everywhere it appears, and that colour is chosen for you automatically, so nobody has to think about it while entering a prescription. If you add the same medicine again weeks later, it is given the colour it had last time — over a long course, “the blue one” becomes a reliable shorthand within a family.

Pill boxes and charts together

A weekly pill organiser is excellent for tablets but cannot hold syrups, drops, inhalers or injections, and it does not record whether a dose was actually taken. Use the box for the tablets and the chart for everything, including the tick record. The two work well together.

When the day is not fixed

Shift workers and carers rarely keep textbook hours. Every time on the chart can be moved to whatever the day actually looks like — a first dose at 6 AM before a shift, a last at midnight — and the chart simply prints the hours you chose.
